Xerox announces the iGen 5 Press
Xerox’s latest offering, the iGen 5 press, offers an expanded colour gamut that now includes a 5th colour option. The company plans to take advantage of growth opportunities in the high-end digital production colour market, which according to InfoTrends, will expand from around 60 billion pages today to 87 billion pages globally by 2018.
Print providers have the option of choosing the iGen 5 150 Press (150ppm), iGen 5 120 Press (120ppm) or iGen 5 90 press (90ppm). All are easily upgradeable. The additional fifth colour unit increases the ability to match a larger gamut of Pantone colours or unknown spot colours. Orange, green or blue options supplement CMYK and can accurately hit distinctive brand colours without moving short runs to offset.
The press also offers matte dry ink options, a 26” sheet size, 2400 x 2400 dpi imaging system, object oriented halftoning, Xerox confident colour, auto density control, and a range of inline finishing solutions such as its IntegratedPLUS Finishing and dual mode sheet feeder.
The 5 complements its predecessors, the iGen 150 and the iGen 4 Diamond edition, and allows Xerox to continue to expand its portfolio.
